Entries in my journal -  10th of March 2020: Dear diary, my final semester exams for bachelors starts from 30th March. I am going to study well for the exams (lol), and after that I will have to start the preparation for entrance exams of DC. Oh also! A virus has been found which is said to be deadly. Well it wont be coming to India for sure. 15th of March 2020: Dear diary, tomorrow I am travelling home for my Birthday. The virus situation has turned to be serious. I hope it doesn’t escalate further.  20th of May 2020: Dear, whatever, Its been (x) number of days since the lockdown started.  As you all can see from my entries in the personal diary how happy and excited I was for my new adventure in life. Alas! Life is unpredictable! The topic for my first post was decided even before I started a blog. The Goan roots that bind me to my plate of fresh fish fry and solkadi would have never forgiven me had I chosen to write on some other topic. For most of the people out there, Goa is about beaches, bars and bikinis(oopsie). Let me now take you on a journey to a completely different Goa which is all about serenity, temples, food and susegad way of life. In my opinion the susegad mantra should be as popular as Hakuna Matata as they both share some similar meaning. Susegad is a relaxed laid-back way of living. From buying poye(local bread), taking short(cough*long*cough)afternoon siestas, relishing good food and getting the work done at their own sweet pace, this place is all about peace.   As a school going kid I loved to read. Even then it wasn't limited to any specific genre. I would read literally anything and everything! Maybe this is why I can talk about the "50 new ways to kiss" the same way I would talk about international politics. The content or the title never mattered to me. It were the words that fascinated me. Pouring all the water from the vast deep ocean into my little pitcher like head has always been my favorite pastime. My long affair with books started at an young age. The epics of Ramayana, Mahabharata, the Panchatantra,Esaapniti tales covered my entire pre school days.  Reading is magic. It is an mirage in the oasis of life. I spent most of the school time in reading Famous Five series, Secret Seven series, Nancy drew series, Adventures of Faster Fene, Adventures of Feluda, murder mystery novels of Agatha Christie etc. Books became my best friends.
